Mangroves Herbebossing Projek

In 1998 het die orkaan George baie gebiede van mangroves vernietig en kan nie self herstel nie. Daar is verskeie oop plekke in die Los Haitises nasionale park en hierdie plekke moet weer herbebos word. Mangroves is baie belangrik vir die ekosisteem. Hulle help om kuslyn-ekosisteem te stabiliseer en voorkom erosie en absorbeer stormvloed-impakte tydens uiterste weersomstandighede soos orkane wat elke jaar kom.
